How we met...

Aarons version

A long time ago... At a time no one can clearly remember...  A baby faced boy noticed a sophisticated and elegant young lady at the hotel where they both met. At a time when lifetime friends were made Aaron and Emma locked eyes.

The first time Aaron tried to kiss Emma, he had walked her to her car after work. She sensed something was about to happen because he was acting so weird.

Shortly after Aaron moved in with Emma. According to the badly kept records this was 2002. Aaron was not a fully formed man  and needed a bigger pond with more excitement and moved to Sydney to find his fortune. By the time Aaron left Perth he had known Emma for almost five years.

Emma Janes version

We met about 20 years ago, when I was handling his rosters. From boss to partners, our roles evolved, but what remained constant was the way he built his life around being a caring person cherishing every moment in time. Even after going separate ways, fate led me back to him on Australia Day in Newtown, Sydney, New South Wales. Amidst the crowd, I recognised that tattoo from our past. Over the following years, I often visited Sydney to see family and always caught up with Aaron for a drink and a meal. Then COVID happened, and we talked daily over the phone. In 2023 I took a leap of faith and visited him for my birthday. Since that day, we've been inseparable, proving that love always finds its way back home.

Let me tell you, Aaron's journey through my staff travel perks was like watching someone stumble upon a pot of gold. I placed him on my staff travel when we were just friends, and he got to enjoy the benefits way before we even started dating again. Now that we're to be married, my Staff Traveler perks are even better. Who knew my job could make me such a catch?!.

The Proposal

Aaron’s proposal journey unfolded like a dream, every detail meticulously planned to sweep me off my feet. Knowing my preference for perfection, especially when it came to my hair, Aaron orchestrated a breathtaking adventure.

We began with a serene week on the tranquil shores of Gilli T, where I could unwind amidst the island's beauty. It was here that Aaron set the stage, ensuring my relaxation was paramount before our next destination.

Our journey continued to Hawaii, though not in the business class Aaron had hoped for. Undeterred, he crafted a beautiful backup plan. Upon landing on the morning of March 6th, we embarked on a magical day in paradise.

Aaron, attentive as ever, arranged for me to enjoy a peaceful afternoon nap, knowing I would shine my brightest afterward. With loving care, he helped me prepare, choosing an outfit I adored, meticulously styling my hair, and ensuring I wore my favorite designer sunglasses.

As the sun began its descent, painting the Hawaiian sky in hues of orange and pink, Aaron led me to a secluded spot on the beach. Though I believed he was capturing the sunset on video, his true intentions lay elsewhere. With the ocean's melody serenading us and the sky ablaze with colour, Aaron dropped to one knee.

I sat there, radiant and overcome with emotion, savoring a delicious cocktail, unaware of the breathtaking moment about to unfold. With trembling hands and a heart full of love, Aaron asked the question that would change our lives forever. Speechless at first, my eyes filled with tears of joy as I whispered a tearful ‘yes,’ sealing our love in a timeless vow beneath the Hawaiian sunset.

In that perfect moment, with the ocean breeze as witness and the sky as our canopy, we embraced, our hearts forever intertwined in the beauty of that Hawaiian paradise.
